Geddit? A con.. just for you.. cause.. it's called AKon!.. lol .. >.>
My lovely wife and I went to AKon this past Fri/Sun, and let me tell you.. for a small con goer, it was an adventure. So many cool cosplays.. a huge vendor's room.. and a plethora of things to do, and little time to do them.
So to start with, here's some pics of just a few of the awesome cosplayers. :D (.. and maybe one of ours as well.)
First up.. is Kaito Kid, from Detective Conan! He was a very kind guy, and did an amazing magic trick right in front of us.. I still have no idea how he did it. :/ lol
Next! Is a classic, that I don't see much of.. Kenshin and Shishio from Rurouni Kenshin! :D (apparently they had a Sanosuke too.. but he wasn't there yet) Great poses, and more great people. You'd really be surprised how fun cosplayers are if you take the time to talk with them about it. :) After all.. if you cosplay it.. I'm sure you like it.. a lot. :D (at least in my exp. :P)
Next is.. my wife (Roni) and I! Here I am cosplaying my best character type.. the super normal looking male character Ryoushi, and my wife is Ookami-san. From Ookami-san and the Seven Companions. :)
Here's one that I would love to see cosplayed more often. The Devil is a Part-timer, aka Hataraku Maou-sama! I love it.. I only wish he had a group. :)..
I have quite a few more pics, but I won't overload this post with them. :) Instead.. I'll be moving on to my personal favorite thing about anime conventions... the Vendor's Room! X)
Merch... Merch as far as the eye can see! :D
There was also an equally big artist alley, but seeing as I don't like posting too many pics of peoples art I didn't buy.. You'll have to imagine it. :P Heh..
There was a lot of stuff.. cool stuff.. old stuff.. well..you can "figure" it out. ;D Even my bro, who's sole dedication in life is watching Detective Conan (:P I kid.), found 2-3 things!
I got.. a few things. :D Just "wall-scroll" on down and check out what I found and got. :)
Just a roll call first.. a couple little Kuroneko buddies! I liked Kamineko, but Roni liked Poutyneko.. so.. why not both? :D Heh.. and also, a bigger Kuroneko in pink lolita. :3
.. an adorable chibi-Link keychain.. seriously.. it was so adorable I died.. and I don't even do keychains.. >.> .. but now I do.
Also, got some snacky things, always fun to try new and strange things. :)
Lastly, some art prints! Zelda/Link with their poketeams is adorable.. and them together on a bridge.. and a Saber (Sayybaaa~~!!!) Ah.. see that one figures box is signed? Interesting but long story behind that! So there we were.. walking around.. looking at vendor's tables.. and I found a figure I wanted! Namely, Haruka from Little Busters. (Some of you may remember how I love that show/visual novel. Seriously.. go read the VN. :P) I was talking about it, and showing Roni the box and such.. fully intent on buying it. Someone came up beside me.. and asked if I was going to get it.. >.> I said, yes. Then I joked that, if she bought it out from under me, I'd have to kill myself. To which she responded.. that she was Haruka's english voice actor.. I laughed.. right.. like you are... and I'm actually Izayoi.. >.< (Mondaiji was what we were cosplaying that day.) So.. we joked and talked for a little bit about Little Busters.. and she new her stuff.. I was convinced.. so doing what any rational collector would do..(heh) I had her sign the box.. :D and she went off to buy her own figure, luckily there was another at a different booth. A really, really great coincidence.. and she was a great, and fun person to talk to. Margaret McDonald just to save you the google search. :)
So long story short.. AKon was a blast, and at just 5 1/2 hours from us.. it was way worth it. :) Thanks for taking the time to read, and I hope you are a little more interested in anime conventions now than before! Try it out.. and remember.. talk to people! Especially if they are cosplaying something you love!
Take care, TAYers!
